Crazy high blood pressure
Fibromyalgia flare-up (hadn't had one in months)/intense muscle pain
Extreme fatigue
Flu-like symptoms (from eating things I know I am allergic to)
Uncontrollable emotions (my poor family!)
Plotting and obsessing all hours of the day about what I would eat, how I would hide it and how I would "get rid of it"
Weight gain
Paralyzing fear
Treating my precious husband like crap
Non-stop shame and guilt
Suicidal ideations
Spending tons of money on crap food
Increased laxative use (boy, isn't THAT sexy!)
Brain fog/poor job performance
Extreme anxiety/heart palpitations/inability to cope/overwhelm
Mental paralysis/inability to act
Intense self-loathing that led to self-punishment with MORE food
Separation from God
Demoralization
Humiliation
Exhaustion

Isn't food addiction glamourous?

But there is experience, strength and hope at the end of the relapse tunnel. All of this brought me to scream, "I give up! God, I can't do this anymore!" And guess what? In that moment of utter powerlessness, I was humbled and willing to go to "any lengths" to again be sober in my eating. I begged God to do for me what I could NOT, in a million years, do for myself. And guess what? He is! One glorious day at a time, He is interceding. But I had to give up the fight--COMPLETELY give up the fight and admit defeat. I will never beat this disease, because it never gets tired! Bingeing, purging, self-loathing and weight obsession NEVER get tired, but I did.

Yet, because of the power of surrender and by the grace of my higher power, here I am, happy, joyous and FREE. Free of everything from the list, free from the mental anguish that is compulsive overeating and bulimia.
